1997 STP/AARWBA Writing, Photo, and Broadcast Contest Winners

Indianapolis, May 24, 1997 -- Winners in the 31th annual STP/AARWBA writing, photography, broadcasting and television competitions were announced today. The announcement was made at the annual AARWBA breakfast prior to Sunday's running of the 81st Indianapolis 500.

Competitions were held in 13 categories. Winners in each category received check for $350.00; second place members are awarded $150.00; and third place winners are awarded $75.00.

Mark Haglund, President of STP Products, Inc., said “STP has been both pleased and honored to have been associated with members of AARWBA for the past 31 years. It has been a wonderful and rewarding experience for STP.

“We’ve prided ourselves on our continuous relationship with motorsports which is becoming increasingly popular. We're pleased that STP was one of the first major sponsors to appreciate participation in motorsports as the right way to go."

As has been the custom, all details of the contest were supervised by AARWBA.
